PCI Barraseal® Turbo with an improved formulation: the full alternative to bitumen waterproofing

At BAU Online 2021, PCI Augsburg GmbH is presenting the reactive waterproofing membrane PCI Barraseal® Turbo with an improved formulation. Significantly increased crack bridging and variable layer thicknesses enable more possibilities of use on the one hand and the reliable waterproofing of all substrates and material transitions on the other hand, even without a fabric insert. The 2K reactive waterproofing membrane, which has been tested by the building authorities, is still flexible when it is cured, even at sub-zero temperatures.
PCI Barraseal® Turbo is the all-rounder for waterproofing in structural and civil engineering and is suitable for building plinths as well as for basement walls, foundations and concrete components. The proven 2-component reactive waterproofing membrane scores with maximum bonding security, flexible and simple processing and quick setting for work under time pressure.
For even more security and flexibility in use, PCI has improved the formulation for PCI Barraseal® Turbo and is presenting the product at BAU Online with a significantly increased crack bridging tested by the building authorities. By variable adjustment of the layer thickness, the required crack bridging can now be carried out without fabric inserts. Material transitions can also be reliable waterproofed, whether from concrete to masonry, when transitioning to waterproof concrete or to lost formwork.
"PCI Barraseal® Turbo is the adequate alternative to waterproof all substrates and material transitions on which a bituminous thick coating (PMBC) can be applied in accordance with the waterproofing standard DIN 18533", explains Tobias Gutberlet, Product Manager Construction Technology at PCI. “We achieved this with the additional test certificates from the building authorities and the excellent adhesion to a wide variety of substrates. This means that we can offer a very flexible waterproofing product that has been tested by the building authorities in accordance with the test principles of a rigid mineral waterproofing slurry, a flexible polymer-modified thick coating and a transition to concrete components with high water penetration resistance. Even with the new quality, our customers do not have to do without the previously valued advantages and product features. "
With PCI Barraseal® Turbo, the base area which is heavily stressed by the weather can be reliably waterproofed. The flexible reactive waterproofing membrane is practical due to its use as a surface waterproofing and the visually appealing grey color: Processors can apply PCI Barraseal® Turbo to the upper edge of the base in one go. This is possible on mineral substrates, bituminous old waterproofing as well as directly on masonry. The waterproofing membrane can also be plastered over or painted over. The waterproofing is rainproof after around four hours and the construction pit can be filled after around six hours.
PCI Barraseal® Turbo is externally and independently tested: The reactive waterproofing membrane has three official test certificates and fulfills all requirements as a surface protection system of class OS 5b. As before, radon tightness ensures a high level of health protection.
