PCI Group: New prefabricated homes brochure presents solutions for healthy living
Low-emission system solutions for modular buildings
11.02.2022
The new prefabricated homes brochure from PCI Augsburg GmbH presents low-emission comprehensive solutions from the two brands PCI and THOMSIT for modern modular buildings. The new brochure presents the various product systems for prefabricated homes, indoors and outdoors, with the focus on sustainable and healthy living. The brochure is primarily aimed at prefabricated homes manufacturers, medium-sized craft businesses (e.g. wooden house manufacturers, carpentry companies) as well as private investors and builders.
Prefabricated homes are trendy today and are being chosen more and more often as the variant of a home that is ready to move into quickly. Nevertheless, it is important to the builders that materials are used for processing that are of high quality, sustainable and low in emissions. In addition, due to building physics, the increasingly dense building shells, the resulting low air exchange and long periods of stay in closed rooms make the use of low-emission building materials indispensable.
Following this trend towards prefabricated homes, the PCI Group is now presenting its own brochure in which all PCI and THOMSIT system solutions are shown in the individual application areas of a prefabricated home. The 120-page brochure offers everyone involved in prefabricated home construction a decision-making aid when it comes to sustainable and healthy living.
The main focus is on the different application situations and the appropriate PCI and THOMSIT system solutions. This ranges from waterproofing products in contact with the ground such as basements or base foundations, to water-vapor-barring interior fittings, substrate preparation, screed installation or the installation of a wide variety of floor coverings, right through to the design of balconies, terraces, paving or other outdoor facilities.
Low-emission products have always been an important quality factor for PCI Augsburg GmbH. "As a construction chemicals company with over 70 years of experience, the sustainable development of healthy living products is important to us," says Stephan Tschernek, Head of Marketing at the PCI Group. "The new prefabricated homes brochure is a further component in our sustainability strategy and - at the same time - a helpful reference work for our customers in this segment."
Independent testing authorities such as the Sentinel Haus Institute confirm the sustainability of the products of the PCI Group with their awards. Sustainability data sheets for selected PCI and THOMSIT products are available at
pci-augsburg.eu and thomsit.com. They include detailed information on the ingredients, emissions, references to the relevant EPDs and building certifications for the respective product.
Recognized test seals of approval such as the "Blauer Engel" testify to the eco-certification of PCI products, from sustainable production and low-emission processing to ecologically compatible disposal.
For builders, the environmental product declarations (EPD) in particular are further proof of sustainability for positive environmental properties and emission behavior of the materials, always with a view to the entire product life cycle. For a large number of the products, these EPDs are specified in the sustainability data sheets which can be downloaded from the PCI and THOMSIT websites.
The PCI Group also attaches great importance to sustainability at the production sites. PCI Augsburg GmbH was one of the first companies in the construction industry to receive a certificate from the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB) for the Augsburg site.
The brochure “Prefabricated homes for healthy living - planning and construction” can be downloaded from www.pci-augsburg.de in the Services/Downloads area.
